The Turblown Low Mount Rx-8 Turbo System fits every model available, including automatic,S2, and Right Hand Drive Rx-8s.
This system is completely hand fabricated in the USA, and includes only the best components on the market. Generally there is an 12 week lead time to build one of these turbo systems, we do not stock them. This turbo system includes everything necessary except an ECU and fuel injectors to get to 330rwhp. To go beyond 330rwhp will require an aftermarket clutch,an ignition kit, and either a boost controller or high pressure waste-gate springs. A full exhaust system is recommend regardless of the desired power levels. Battery relocation is not required, but a smaller battery if stock location is retained. The Oil Metering Pump does NOT need to be removed for this particular kit. The Standard kit comes with an atmospheric wastegate dump tube, but can be plumbed back into the downpipe section for an additional $250. This turbo system is completely compatible with a stock engine, but a compression check is recommended. We recommend and offer a ported engine with Goopy apex seals for those looking for maximum performance and reliability. This turbo system is Cobb Accessport Compatible, but we recommend the Adaptronic Select Plug and Play ECU for all of our turbo systems. We have base maps available for the Adaptronic ECU. Dyno tuning by an experienced rotary tuner is recommended. All units are hand built on Rx-8 Chassis in house ensuring best possible fitment. Slight adjustments might be necessary. Customers are responsible for return freight for modifications. There are NO returns/refunds on this unit.
This Turbo System contains;
Heavy Wall(.140") 304SS Tig Welded and Back-Purged Vband Turbo Manifold
CompTurbo CT2-5862 or CT2-6262 Billet Journal Bearing Turbo and a .82 or 1.03 Tial Vband Turbine Housings avialable to choose from. Turbo also has a 360 thrust bearing upgrade, and is under manufactorer's warranty for 1 year. Oil less ball bearing, water cooled CHRA upgrade available for an additional $1000 and is recommend for road course/auto X cars.
TurbSmart 40mm vband wastegate with open dump tube standard, reroute option $250. Reroute will increase chances downpipe doesn't perfectly line-up, and increase installation level of difficulty.
304SS Tig Welded and Back-Purged Vband Downpipe with stock location o2 sensor location, and OEM 3 bolt flange. We also supply a 3" flex section to be welded into your midpipe in the event the exhaust does not bolt up perfectly. No two cars are exactly the same, fitment can not be expected to be perfect. The low mount turbo system is a tight fit.
A SS braided oil feed line, oil filter pedestal and hardline oil return line are included for journal bearing system with thermal sleeves. Oil less ball bearing option comes with SS braided AN hoses/thermal sleeves with barbed adapters. Requires deletion of coolant going to stock throttle body.
Garrett Front Mount Inter-Cooler system with black vibrant couplers and T-bolt clamps. Under-tray trimming required
Cobb Compatible Ambient Air Intake System with a K&N Air Filter. Does not require crash bar removal. May require trimming of bumper cover
A billet Bosch Style recirc blow off valve. Can also be used as atmospheric bov with stronger springs. We can substitute at additional cost for a different unit if desired.
A new steel motor mount bracket is included. Motor mount itself requires trimming, a new unit is recommended.
Requires smaller diameter main pulley like Agency Power unit for use of 2.75" intake pipe, a smaller 2.5" unit can be substituted if desired
Front Subframe Rear Brace might requires modifications to be used, wastegate reroute increases these chances
S2 cars require the adaptronic select found under the ECU drop-down box. They also require two ID2000 secondary injectors.
